Shanghai Electric and Guangzhou Metro Seek to Deepen Collaboration in Rail Transit through Ongoing Exploration of Innovative Models

On the afternoon of January 17, a delegation led by Wu Lei, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Shanghai Electric Group Co. Ltd. visited Guangzhou Metro Group Co., Ltd. (“Guangzhou Metro”) for an in-depth exchange of views with Ding Jianlong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Guangzhou Metro to further expedite collaboration in rail transit. Liu Ping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Shanghai Electric Group Co. Ltd., attended the meeting.

 

Wu Lei appreciated Guangzhou Metro’s enduring support and trust in Shanghai Electric.  He expressed his hope that Shanghai Electric and Guangzhou Metro, both distinguished leaders in their respective industries, would persist in their comprehensive efforts across the entire industrial chain of rail transit signals, elevators, and industrial basic parts, etc. by complementary collaboration with a focus on the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area based in Guangzhou, exploring additional innovative collaboration models to create more exemplary and benchmark projects with distinctive characteristics through technology empowerment.

 

Ding Jianlong welcomed Wu Lei and his delegation and thanked Shanghai Electric for providing a robust signaling system to guarantee the long-term safe operation of the Guangzhou Metro and the convenience of public travel. He hoped that both sides would further strengthen collaboration in old lines renewal and new lines construction to ensure the safety, stability and efficiency of network operation and construction, while jointly elevating the construction of Guangzhou’s megacity comprehensive transportation system to a higher level.

 

Jin Xiaolong, member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Shanghai Electric, Cai Changjun, member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of Guangzhou Metro, and the Main Principals of relevant departments of both sides were present at the meeting.
