Shanghai Metro Line 5 TSTCBTC®2.0 Signal System has successfully passed the passenger carrying operation evaluation organized by the China Association of Metros (CAMET) on August 29, 2020.
On August 29, 2020, China Association of Metros, Technical Equipment Professional Committee organized seven experts from Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Suzhou and Wuhan to form a Panel to evaluate the passenger carrying operation of TSTCBTC®2.0 Signal System in Shanghai Metro Line 5 in Shanghai. The leaders and representatives of CAMET Technical Equipment Professional Committee, Operation Facilities and Equipment Management Department of Shanghai Shentong Metro Group Co.,Ltd., Transportation Management Center of Shanghai Shentong Metro Group Co.,Ltd., Shanghai Metro Maintenance Co.,Ltd., Technical Center of Shanghai Shentong Metro Group Co.,Ltd. and Shanghai Thales SEC Transport System Co.,Ltd. attended the meeting.
The Panel listened to the report of Shanghai Shentong Metro Group Co.,Ltd. on “Signal System Project of Shanghai Metro Line 5” and “Comparison of Operation before and after Signal System Transformation of Shanghai Metro Line 5”, the report of Shanghai Thales SEC Transport System Co.,Ltd. on “Independent Innovation and R&D of TSTCBTC®2.0 Signal System”, and reviewed the relevant data and system documents during passenger carrying operation of TSTCBTC®2.0 signal system on site. The submitted data are completed and detailed, meeting the review requirements. After on-the-spot inquiry and discussion, the Panel held that: Since nearly two years of passenger carrying operation, the independently innovated TSTCBTC®2.0 signal system of Shanghai Metro Line 5 has been running stably and reliably, and all kinds of operation indicators are excellent, meeting the requirements of design and operation; TSTCBTC®2.0 signal system features high redundancy, system architecture design of integration of interlocking and train control, and vehicle-based and resource-centered mobile authorization computing logic; TSTCBTC®2.0 signal system can follow the interconnection standard interface protocol, and can realize the operation requirements of CBTC interconnection trains, and the engineering verification of automatic operation is in progress; It is suggested that the automatic operation function based on interconnectivity is realized based on existing TSTCBTC®2.0 signal system. The Panel agreed that: The passenger carrying operation of Shanghai Metro Line 5 TSTCBTC®2.0 Signal System has passed the evaluation and review.
By August 2020, the total operating mileage of Shanghai Line 5 has exceeded 6 million train kilometers, and the monthly average operating mileage reaches 350,000 train kilometers. Also, TSTCBTC2.0 signal system operates stably and reliably, and the delay times and passenger clearance times of five minutes or more caused by the signal system are both 0. In addition, TSTCBTC®2.0 signal system will also be applied to Shanghai Line 14 (expected to open to traffic in June, 2021) and Zhengzhou Line 6 Phase I (expected to open to traffic at the end of 2021).
The successful passing of this evaluation marks that the TSTCBTC®2.0 signal system independently innovated and developed by Shanghai Thales SEC Transport has been fully recognized by domestic rail transit industry experts, and it provides a better scheme for new urban rail transit projects and reconstruction projects of existing lines in the future.
