On June 30, 2019, Ningbo Metro Line 3 Phase 1, China’s first smart metro adopting LTE to support CBTC and dedicated wireless communication system delivered by TST, was officially opened.
Ningbo Metro Line 3 Phase 1 started construction in December 2014. From Gaotangqiao Station of Yinzhou District in the south to Datongqiao Station of Jiangbei District in the north, it boasts a total length of 16.73 km and 15 stations, all of which are underground. The line runs through the whole city from north to south and, together with Line 1 and Line 2, constitutes the basic framework of the urban rail transit network. In the future, it will be connected with Ningbo-Fenghua Intercity Railway, marking that Ningbo’s rail transit enters the multi-line operation era.
Since winning the bid at the end of 2016, TST had worked closely with Ningbo Metro. Through hard work, we completed the installation and commissioning of the signaling system half a year ahead of schedule. Based on the owner’s operational needs, TST continuously customized and upgraded the solution. Ningbo Metro Line 3 adopts LTE to support CBTC and dedicated wireless communication system, integrating signaling and communication to provide a more reliable and encrypted dedicated frequency band for the train control system, thus enhancing the operation stability of trains.
The delivery of the project does not mean the end of the cooperation. TST will continue to provide safe rail travel services for Ningbo citizens.
